Franktown, Virginia does boast a little interesting history. It was a little village of about 30 homes when it was settled by the Quakers in the 1600's, when it was known as Nassawadox. The name was changed to Franktown in 1799.
Captain John Smith built a house about 2 miles from Wellington Weddings, The Crystal Palace, for his bride-to-be! Alas she left him for another man and Smith lived alone in the house for the rest of his life.

More recently (1898-1977), Judge Charles M. Lankford lived in the Crystal Palace, for whom Route 13 is officially named, the Lankford Memorial Highway.
